Poverty In Northwest Louisiana - You Can Help!

According to the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank, over 90,000 people in our area are "food insecure". "Food insecure" means that person does not know where their next meal will come from.

In 2009, the Shreveport/Bossier CROP Hunger Walk brought in over $6,000 for the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank, with approximately 150 walkers supporting our cause. This year, with your help, we can gather even more money to help those in need in our community! Sign up to walk for hunger, today!

The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana is the largest distributor of donated food for our 7parish area. We sort, warehouse and distribute food to over 100 partner agencies which then give it to people in need. People affected by hunger in our community are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days.
