The Dollar Menu

How much can you buy with $1? I took a stroll through Brookshire's this morning to see what I could get with just one dollar and then compared it to what the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank can buy with one dollar, take a look for yourself:

1 lb of potatoes (1 potato)

84 lbs of potatoes

1 lb of bananas (2 bananas)

71 lbs of baby food

2 boxes of macaroni & cheese

18 lbs of cheese

1 10¾ oz can of chicken noodle soup

37 lbs of pot pies

If could give one potato or 84 pounds of potatoes for the same price which would you choose?
